My painting is primarily about color.  It is about trying to transmute the essence of whatever moves me to paint into the essence of paint. It is about relying on color to define the mass, the place and the space of imagined subjects.  And, hopefully, to discover -- and use -- color tension to create tension between what is represented and what remains abstract within the world of my painting.

Then again, perhaps my painting is about something else!  I do believe my painting is highly intuitive.  Hopefully informed by intelligence, but primarily intuitive.  So, it is difficult for me really to know, much less communicate in any but painted language, what my paintings are about.
